We can now upload avatars. An avatar is a small picture that you can use to represent you or it can be an actual picture. It must be no larger than 160 x 160 pixels and 40 kilobytes. If you aren't sure what this means, you can try uploading the avatar and the program will tell you whether or not it fits.

Go to your profile and scroll down about two-thirds of the way, and you will see the Avatar section. You can browse to a site either on your computer (use the 'Browse' button) or on the web and the program will go get it and load it for you. If it's too big, the program will tell you. In that case, use a graphics editor like Adobe or the one built into Windows XP and crop it or resize it. Then try uploading again. In some editors (like Adobe Photoshop) you can specify how many pixels you want it. A pixel is the small dot on your computer screen that pictures are made out of.

War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory.
