Footprints by the Sea

Last night I had a wondrous dream, of prints in beach sand I had seen.  Though my feet hadn't walked that shore, I saw the footprints of my Lord.

And when a different print appeared, I asked the Lord, "What have we here?  This print is larger, round and neat, and wasn't made by walking feet."

"My child," He said in somber tone, "For miles I carried you alone.  I challenged you to stand - not ride.  To walk and let me be your guide.

You would not stand.  You would not grow.  The walk of faith, you would not know.  So then I finally got fed up, and there I dropped you on your butt.

Because in life, there comes a time, when one must fight and one must climb, when one must rise and take a stand, or just leave butt prints in the sand."

TWOG Goals

The goals of The Word of God Ministries and the purpose of this web site are the same.

1.  We want to help put the Book back together.  For a long time now the Word of God has been fractured, split into pieces, sometimes by well-meaning people.  Verses and chapters, labels of 'Old' and 'New,' and the doctrines or traditions of men have served to slice the real meaning of the text into meaningless platitudes and dice worthy applications into so much drivel.  These 'slice and dice' methods, while mostly intended to help, have nonetheless converted the whole nutritious revelation from God about Himself into regurgitated pabulum.

Verses and chapters are convenient for helping to remember and refer to parts of the Word, but they also serve to separate teachings that should be kept together.  'Old' and 'New' labels imply that one part of God's Word is outdated while the other part is updated, giving rise to the false ideas that God changes and He can't be trusted.  Baseless doctrines and traditions of men take these pieces and further subdivide them into neat little boxes that frequently don't relate to each other, and when they are reassembled the product sort of looks like food but doesn't satisfy.  It's as if we've taken the healthy whole-grain bread He has provided us and removed almost all the nutrition, leaving people to try and live on completely worthless white bread.  And you know what they say - "The whiter the bread the quicker you're dead."

2.  We want to help put you together with your God.  As we put the Word back together, and as you take it in and learn how to practice it in new and different ways, it will broaden and deepen your relationship with your God and Father.  As your relationship with the Father is made whole and strong, you will be better able to cope with the world, the flesh, and the Satan.  We will help give you new meaning for the idea of being "in the world but not of the world."

3.  We want to help put God's people back together.  As we help you understand the Word better, and it strengthens your relationship with the Father, then perhaps we can help you and others like you restore the unity of the body of the Messiah (the Christ).  Jew and Gentile, Jewish and Christian, Messianic and Protestant, fracturing and breaking fellowship and refusing to surrender.  What a waste!  As a group, we are not known for our love toward one another.  Instead we are known for our fighting and hypocrisy.  Some of us are so busy fighting we forgot what we were even fighting about.

We know all who claim His Name won't get together; that would be unreasonable, considering that not all who wear His Name belong to Him.  We also have no intention of trying to cause a Jew to quit being a Jew or a Christian to quit being a Christian, or a Gentile to become Jewish or any other combination you can think of.  We do not want to encourage or practice 'reductionism' or finding the lowest common denominator.  We think as a body we are strongest when we allow for building unity in diversity with our foundation as the whole Word of God.  What we hope to do, however, is help you and your Father create a family unit wherever you are that will demonstrate the glory and strength and blessings of obedience to the Father's Words in all their nutritious wholeness.

May our God and Father the Lord Yeshua haMashiach (Jesus the Messiah) bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His face upon you and give you peace.
